Registration Process & Rules

1. We will handle registrations in the order they are received.

2. The original ID card that was submitted during registration must also be brought to the exam center.

3. Please ensure that the ID you submit features a photo that closely resembles you, to facilitate identification and verification at the exam venue.

4. Only Passport, Aadhaar, Driving Licence, PAN Card & Voters ID will be accepted as valid identification.

5. If the photographs on all your valid ID proofs significantly differ from your current appearance, please contact us by emailing vvacademy23@gmail.com.

6. When you come for the exam, please remember to bring a copy of the ID card that you submitted during registration.

7. Without your original, valid government-issued ID card, you will not be permitted to take the exam.

8. After confirming your registration, you will receive another email (which may arrive in your spam folder) containing the receipt of your registration.

9. Furthermore, one week prior to the exam, you will receive an email detailing the exam date and venue. If you do not receive these emails, please contact us.

10. The examination fee will not be accepted after the date specified in the registration confirmation email.

11. You will receive specific module locations via email. Exam fees are non-refundable for both internal and external candidates under any circumstances. Once registered, exam dates cannot be altered.

12. Candidates with special needs may request special consideration, provided that they provide appropriate documentation of their requirements during registration.

13. An 'internal candidate' for a specific exam level refers to someone who has studied that level at Voyage to Victory. All others are considered 'external candidates'.

14. Please be aware that exam timings may change due to unforeseen circumstances. In such instances, candidates will be notified of the new timings.

15. Any concerns regarding the administration of the exam should be reported promptly to the institute’s management immediately after the exam.

16. Before applying for the examination, it is important to determine whether you are classified as internal or external. Internal candidates are students who have studied within our institute, known as Voyage to Victory students, while external candidates are those who have studied outside our institute. As a result, registration fees vary for both groups. External candidates who mistakenly register under the internal category will have their registration canceled and will not be allowed to participate in the exam.

17. Please arrive at the venue on or before the time specified in the registration acceptance email.

18. Late arrivals will not be allowed to take the exam and will need to register for a different exam date, with full payment required.

Exam Structure and Principles

1. Close Contact with Reality

Texts and tasks are, whenever possible, authentic and adapted to real-life scenarios. Speaking situations are selected for their relevance and representativeness. This approach ensures that both the texts and tasks, along with their situational contexts, are authentic.

2. Adequate Test Formats

Tasks are crafted to accurately reflect the candidates' abilities. For example, listening skills are tested without requiring excellent writing skills, a strong memory, or successful oral production. Similarly, open exam formats are used to validly assess productive skills like writing and speaking.

3. Adequate Testing Sections

ÖSD exams are divided into various sub-areas to provide a comprehensive and balanced view of a person’s language competence. They distinguish between individual communicative skills (reading comprehension, listening comprehension, writing skills, and speaking) and combined communicative skills (e.g., listening and speaking: conversation; reading and writing: correspondence). Grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and spelling are considered secondary aspects of communicative competence and are assessed implicitly.

4. Reliable and Precise Assessment

Open exercise formats and direct testing demand high standards from examiners and assessors. To ensure reliable evaluation, precise assessment guidelines and criteria are provided, along with intensive training for examiners.
